Huntingburg Man Arrested After Smashing Car Window And Injuring Infant

(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man was arrested Saturday after police say he injured an infant when he smashed a car window during a domestic fight.

Jasper Police arrested 32-year-old Joshua Mattingly on a felony count of neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury and a misdemeanor charge of criminal recklessness.

Mattingly was arrested after police received a call about a domestic fight in the 1400 block of Franklin Street at 9:20 p.m.

Before police arrived, Mattingly had fled in a vehicle from the scene.

According to police during the domestic fight Mattingly allegedly smashed the car window with his elbow and an infant inside the vehicle suffered an injury from the shattered glass.

Huntingburg police spotted Mattingly's vehicle and stopped him. Mattingly had suffered a laceration to his forearm and an ambulance was called to the scene. He was treated and then arrested.
