Terry Kirkman, Director of the Limestone Carving Exhibit, said that some of these pieces are a large time commitment depending on the type of carving, carver's skill level and which tools they use. "It would depend on who is doing and what it is, if its a three dimensional figure like a face or a head obviously it'll take quite a bit longer. Some people use air tools and some use just a mallet and chisel," Kirkman said.

Kirkman said one carver had worked over 200 hours on his piece at the exhibit.

"I was really encouraged at how many people came and really appreciate people coming. We actually had several people and there are some very talented individuals who are jsut everyday people. I was very pleased with the exhibit," Kirkman said.
