Accident Claims The Life Of Brownstown Man

(BROWNSTOWN) - A two-vehicle accident on US 50, just west of Brownstown, claimed the life of a driver shortly after Noon on Tuesday.

According to Jackson County Coroner Mike Bobb, 76-year-old Lonnie Delph was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened on US 50 West, just east of the bridge over the East Fork of White River.

According to police Delph was traveling west on US 50 East in a 2007 Ford Focus at the same time a 2012 GMC box truck being driven east by 54-year-old Scott Ortlieb of Seymour when the two vehicles collided.

Ortlieb was taken by ambulance to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour for a medical evaluation.

The accident remains under investigation.
