(BEDFORD) - A homeless woman from Indianapolis was injured after her vehicle flipped on State Road 158 on Sunday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 59-year-old Linda Stogg was traveling west on State Road 158 West at the intersection of Old State Road 158 went she says a deer ran in front of her 2006 Saturn Vue. Stogg attempted to miss the deer and traveled off the south side of the highway and continued off road traveling west for 400 feet.

Police say at some point, Stogg over-corrected to try and get back onto the roadway. Police say the vehicle traveled north and rolled over at least one time and possibly more and came to stop on the passenger side facing north.

An IU Health Hospital ambulance and Bedford Fire Department extrication unit and Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department first responders arrived on the scene.

They found Stogg sitting on the passenger side of the vehicle. She was unable to get out of the wreckage. Both Bedford and Shawswick firefighters freed Stogg from the wreckage by cutting away the windshield.

At the scene Stogg complained of hand and wrist pain. She was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment. Once there she complained of body pain and suffered a possible broken wrist and was confused and disoriented when speaking to police.

Stogg told police she had been visiting her son who lives in Fayetteville.

Police say Stogg passed a portable breath test and was not drinking at the time of the accident. She had no insurance on the vehicle.
