(HELTONVILLE) - A Bedford woman was injured after a deer crashed through the windshield of the vehicle she was riding in.

The accident was reported at 8:37 p.m. Saturday on State Road 446 near Erie Church Road.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 19-year-old Latasha Baker of Heltonville was traveling north on State Road 446 when a deer entered the roadway.

Baker attempted to avoid hitting the deer but was unable to. The deer collided with her 2008 Scion TC causing the deer to go up into the air and land in the southbound lane on a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic driven by 20-year-old Alexis Sullivan.

The deer landed on the hood of Sullivan's car and crashed through the windshield into the vehicle.

Police says hair, blood and intestines covered both Alexis Sullivan and her passenger 19-year-old Lindsey Sullivan.

AMR ambulance personnel and Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department first responders helped clean up both women.

Lindsey Sullivan suffered a shoulder injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Alexis Sullivan and Baker were not injured. But Alexis was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
