Last updated on Wednesday, June 7, 2017

(SPRINGVILLE) - Two people were injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 58 near Brick Street.

The accident was reported at 9:29 a.m.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 72-year-old Darrell Anderson of Springville was traveling west on State Road 58 in his 2013 Ford F-150 and was approaching Brick Street. Anderson then began to turn left (north) onto Brick Street.

At the same time, 35-year-old Coen McFarland of Bedford was traveling west on State Road 58 in his 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. A third vehicle, a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by 53-year-old Shelli Warren of Bloomington was stopped on Brick Street facing south.

Police say Anderson failed to yield the right of way to McFarland and turned left in front of McFarland's Tahoe causing the two vehicles to collide. The collision caused Anderson's pickup to pin into a PSI utility pole. The McFarland's Tahoe spun into Warren's vehicle.

McFarland suffered knee, lower leg and foot pain. Warren complained of neck pain. Anderson was not injured.

Anderson was cited for failure to yield.

Assisting at the scene was an IU Health Hospital ambulance, Perry Volunteer Fire Department first responders, Bedford Fire Department extrication unit and Bedford Police officers.
