Three Shoals Men Arrested During Traffic Stop

(BEDFORD) - Three Shoals men were arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday on multiple drug charges.

David W. Terry, 36, Shoals, possession of meth, possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance.

According to LCPD Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, at 4:38 p.m. on Wednesday, a Lawrence County Police officer was patrolling the area of State Road 37, south of John Williams Boulevard, when he noticed a gold Pontiac speeding with a cracked windshield and an unreadable license plate, .

The officer pulled the vehicle over. Clifton was driving and Terry and Jones were passengers.

"During the stop, the officer noticed indicators inside the vehicle of possible drug possession," Chief Deputy Shoults added.

A police dog alerted to possible drugs in the vehicle.

Police found three burnt marijuana roaches and ginseng roots on Jones. They also found a Thermos containing meth, scales and smoking devices that belonged to Terry and marijuana inside a cigarette pack.

"Inside another container found baggies that appeared to be pre-packed for sale with what field-tested positive for methamphetamine," Chief Deputy Shoults added. "More marijuana was also located in the vehicle."

Altogether, police found almost 8 grams of meth and about 18 grams of marijuana.
