(SEYMOUR) - A 23-year-old Rwanda native died Saturday night after he was pulled from a Seymour lake.

Police say Jean Ishimwe, a University of Michigan student, was working as an intern for Cummins. He was pronounced dead at Schneck Medical Center.

According to Jackson County Sheriff's Department, officers were alerted at 9:10 p.m. of an unconscious man, who had been under the water for several minutes at a lake in the 8000 block of North Base Road.

Police say Ishimwe was riding a zip line across a family lake, when at some point, he went under the water and never resurfaced.

Several people jumped in and were able to pull him back on land and begin CPR.

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday.
