(SPENCER) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning to make a major change in the traffic pattern on State Road 46 through the town of Spencer as an $8 million road construction project continues.
Starting Monday, motorists traveling westbound on State Road 46 will be shifted to a lane on the south side of the roadway between Main Street and the U.S. 231/46 split.
Eastbound motorists will be routed onto Franklin Street at the split. Traffic will proceed one way eastbound on Franklin Street to Fairview Avenue.
Crews will soon remove pavement and begin excavation to install a new 54-inch storm sewer pipes to help address flooding problems.
Installation of new water lines continues along Ind. 46 between Main and Franklin streets.
