Lawrence County Native Retires From ISP After 20 Years Of Service

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Police Bloomington District Secretary Teresa Hutchinson retired after a 20 year career with the Indiana State Police.

A 1974 Needmore High School graduate, Hutchinson was part of the last class that graduated from Needmore before the school consolidated with others into Bedford North Lawrence High School.

Hutchinson was hired by the Indiana State Police at the Bloomington Post in 1997 as a Switchboard Operator working part time; eventually working full time thereafter until May 2017.

Teresa was promoted to the District Secretary in December of 2015.

Teresa and her husband Kevin have four sons. Trevis and his spouse Carla, granddaughter Peyton, and grandsons Trevin and Carter. Douglas Gene Hutchinson is a Squad Sergeant with the Indiana State Police at the Bloomington Post. Lucas and his spouse Amy, granddaughter Maylee and grandson Owen. Her youngest son, Kevin Michael and his sweetheart Ashley!

Hutchinson comes from a family steeped in the traditions of the Indiana State Police. Her mother, Loretta Maddox, retired in October of 1999 as Switchboard Operator from the Bloomington Post. Her son, Doug currently serves as a Squad Sergeant at the Bloomington District. Her nephew, Jason Cobb is a First Sergeant and serves in the ISP Crime Scene Investigation Division. Her cousin, Ron Douglas serves in the ISP Commercial Motor Vehicle Division as a Motor Carrier Zone Coordinator. Her brother in law, Ron Thomas retired as a Squad Sergeant at the Bloomington Post and her other cousins include Bud Alcron, who retired as an ISP Detective Sergeant and Ron Maddox who also retired as an ISP Squad Sergeant.

Teresa considered it a privilege to work with her mom Loretta and her son Doug over the course of her 20 year career at the Bloomington Post.
