Hoosier Uplands Gives Scholarships To Local Graduates

(UNDATED) - This year marks the 25th year that Hoosier Uplands has given scholarships to local graduating high school seniors from Crawford, Lawrence, Martin, Orange and Washington counties.

"One $1,400 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior for each of the 11 high schools in the five counties we service," says Ginger Knight, Director of Administrative Services/Coordinator of Hoosier Uplands Scholarship Program.

This year 11 scholarships have been awarded bringing the total of scholarships since 1993 to 209 with a total of $279,850 awarded.

The students were recognized Sunday at a reception at the Hoosier Uplands Board of Directors meeting.

Winning Hoosier Uplands scholarships for 2017 are:

Crawford County

Lawrence County

Martin County

Orange County

Washington County
