Last updated on Thursday, June 1, 2017

(BEDFORD) - Shawswick Township has received $3,000 from Hoosier Upland’s Community Development and Improvement Program.

"The funds will be for home repairs for elderly residents in the low income range for all of Lawrence County not just Shawswick Township and will be used along with the Pennington Grant that was received from the Lawrence County Community Foundation," says Trustee Millard Jones.

To qualify the resident must be 65 or older and meet income guidelines.

"The money can be used to repair their home, water heater, plumbing, window, heating systems or many other projects that need to be fixed, but the residents don't have the funds to make the repairs," Jones added.'

To apply call the Shawswick Township Trustee's office at (812) 275-2511 to set up an appointment.
