Last updated on Thursday, June 29, 2017

(MITCHELL) - Bring the whole family and join officials from Lawrence County Purdue Extension and Spring Mill State Park for “Discover Nature’s Playground” at the Lakeview Activity Center at Spring Mill State Park.

The event will be held Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. until Noon.

This is a free nature play day specifically for families who want to start or keep spending more time outdoors together. There will be activities for those in grades K-5th.

Participants at "Discover Nature's Playground" will share in hands-on activities jointly as a family such as making a bird feeder, mapping out habitats in their neighborhood, learning about plants and making seed balls, seeing parts of a tree while looking at "tree cookies," and participating in a nature scavenger hunt.

Families are urged to attend together to discover Nature's Playground.
