(UNDATED) - Invite 10 people to your Fourth of July backyard banquet and it will cost you $55.70, the American Farm Bureau Federation said in an annual estimate that was a few pennies less than last year’s estimate.
On the menu to feed 10 persons: 8 hot dogs (and buns), 8 quarter-pound hamburgers (and buns and cheese slices), 4 pounds of pork spare ribs, potato salad, baked beans, corn chips, lemonade, chocolate milk, and watermelon.
The survey was conducted by Farm Bureau members who visited grocery stores in 25 states to check prices.
