Brownstown Man Injured After Pickup Strikes Tree

(BEDFORD) - A Brownstown man was injured after he crashed his truck into a tree Saturday afternoon on Henderson Creek Road close to the Lawrence-Jackson county line.

According a Lawrence County Police Department accident report, 20-year-old Levi Sweeney, drove off the roadway in his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado and struck a tree. He then drove to Jackson County to get cell service to call for assistance.

Jackson County Police Officer Rick Meyer was the first officer on the scene, who related the accident information to Lawrence County police.

Sweeney suffered a possible broken shoulder and was taken to Schneck Hospital in Seymour for treatment.
