Bloomington Man Sentenced To Probation In Sexsomnia Case

Last updated on Thursday, June 22, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man who claims he suffers from “sexsomnia” will serve one year probation for fondling a teenage girl during a March sleepover.

18-year-old Andrew Passwaiter was sentenced to one year probation in Monroe Circuit Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of sexual battery. Passwaiter's probation period runs until June 20, 2018. As a condition of the probation, Passwaiter is to have no contact with his victim during that period.

Passwaiter was arrested in March when a 15-year-old girl told Bloomington police she woke up to find him fondling her.

Passwaiter told police he suffers from "sexsomnia," a condition where a person engages in sexual activities while they are asleep.
