(HURON) - Two people were injured on Tuesday after the driver of a motorcycle took a curve too fast on Huron Williams Road, north of US 50 West.
The accident was reported at 4:13 p.m.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 29-year-old Steven Cox of Paoli was going too fast to negotiate a curve on Huron Williams Road when his 1998 Harley Davidson began to slide. The motorcycle laid over on its left side, throwing Cox and his passenger; 28-year-old Danielle Nance, also of Paoli; off the motorcycle and onto the roadway.
Police say Cox was traveling around 40 miles per hour when he entered the curve.
Cox suffered minor bleeding to his head and was taken by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
Nance suffered severe bleeding to her head and was flown from the scene by an Air Evac medical helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
Assisting at the scene were an Huron Volunteer Fire Department and an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew.
