(WASHINGTON CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is changing its detour route for a State Road 56 closure at a culvert replacement site in Scott County near the Washington County line.
High water has overtaken State Road 256 which was part of the original detour.
New signage is rerouting traffic around the closure in Finley Township via Interstate 65 and State Road 60.
Motorists can learn more about highway work zones and other traffic alerts at indot.carsprogram.org 1-800-261-ROAD or 511 from a mobile phone.
Washington County Sheriff Roger Newlon would like to remind everyone to be safe and avoid driving through standing water.
