Seniors At BNL, Mitchell Graduate Tonight

(UNDATED) - Seniors will walk the halls for the last times, as they done their caps and gowns at Commencement tonight at Bedford North Lawrence and Mitchell high schools.

BNL Seniors have chosen, as the class motto -"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams Live the life you've imagined" - Henry David Thoreau. The class flower is a white rose and the class colors are navy and silver.

Graduation exercises will begin in the Bedford North Lawrence Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.

Kaylee Ecker will address her fellow BNL students as valedictorian of the Class of 2017.

BNL band members will open the commencement followed by remarks from Dan Dyke, high school principal.

Brandt Callahan, class president will provide welcoming remarks. He also will lead in the changing of tassels at the end of the ceremony.

North Lawrence Community Schools Superintendent Gary Conner will address the crowd.

BNL Student Council president and a graduating senior, Olivia Mackey, will close the ceremony.

Mitchell High School

Mitchell High School commencement begin at 7:30 p.m.

The class did not pick a class motto, flower or colors. They will wear their traditional blue and gold.

Valedictory honors go to Kortni Doane, Kelsey Enlow and Victoria Johnson.

The ladies will be introduced by Tyler Kirk, class president.

The pledge of allegiance will be led by Krista Kirk, class vice president. The remaining brother Austin, in the set of triplets, will be performing with the high school band during commencements.

Seniors Paige Courtwright and Alyssa Mahan will read the names of seniors as diplomas are awarded.

Sean Vandeventer, MHS principal, will present diplomas with assistance from Ada Reynolds, chairwoman of the group of senior class sponsors.

Tyler Kirk will lead the students in turning their tassels.
