(SPRINGVILLE) - A pregnant woman complained of pain after a two-vehicle accident on McDowell Lane Thursday.

The accident was reported at 6:14 p.m. near Preston Lane.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 30-year-old Ashley Price of Springville was coming down a hill in a 2005 Ford Focus at the same time 19-year-old Cassandra Cornwell was coming up the hill in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Police say the road is a narrow private lane with broken patches of pavement and gravel along the side of the road.

Both vehicles began to slow and then slid on the wet pavement, colliding.

Price was not injured, but Cornwell, who is in last term of her pregnancy, complained of pain on her left side and requested to be taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

Assisting at the scene was an IU Health Hospital ambulance, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Bedford Fire Department extrication unit and StatFlight was put on standby.
