According to a Lawrence County Police report, a 17-year-old male was traveling west on Vinegar Hill Road and had entered a curve when he told police his brakes failed.

The 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt ran off the south side of the road and struck a tree near the 1980 block of Vinegar Hill Road.
