(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council voted Tuesday night to appropriate $11,480 to complete the installation of LED lights at county facilities.
Officials say with rebates and utility savings the investment will allow the county to save taxpayer money.
The council also approved a request from Lawrence Circuit Court Judge Andrea McCord, on the behalf of county judges, to spend $43,510 to upgrade a court computer system.
The upgrade is needed because the state is mandating the e-filing of cases beginning in 2018.
The council also authorized a request from Highway Superintendent David Holmes to allocate $150,000 for the Wallner Quarry Road project.
