(LOOGOOTEE) - A Martin County puppy mill was named on the United States Humane Society’s “Horrible Hundred” list for 2017, a listing of the pet businesses with the worst practices.
John E. and Rosanna Raber's business in Loogootee was on the list, mostly from underweight puppies.
The listing uses information from USDA inspection records.
Inspectors found nine underweight puppies with their ribs showing, two puppies with liquid diarrhea and an adult boxer with open cuts with exposed muscle tissue.
None of the animals had been to a veterinarian.
