Limestone Bench Dedicated To BMS Athletic Director

(BEFORD) - Bedford Middle School staff and students along with Junko Beyers dedicated a limestone bench in the memory of her husband who served as athletic director and teacher at the school.

42-year-old David Beyers was killed in a car accident on Christmas day.

The bench was placed in front of the gymnasium.

Also present for the dedication service on Friday was Beyers' parents, Brenda and Joe; brother Stephen and his wife Alicia and their two children; brother Joey and cousin Katie Fields and close family friend Rachel Fields.

During the dedication, students shouted out words that described Byers - Kind; Loving, Inspiring, Encouraging, Uplifting; A Friend.

The BMS band performed "Song for Friends." After the song was finished, Beyers' family was given red heart-shaped and white star-shaped balloons which they released.
