Judges for the Ugly Duck Belly Buster Contest Announced

(BEDFORD) - The fifth annual Ugly Duck Derby is tomorrow at the Lowery Pool from 6-9:00 p.m.

All proceeds of the Ugly Duck Derby will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County.

Following the theme of Cheese Burger in Paradise, there will be hamburgers fresh off the grill prepared by Henry Hill with his special sauce and Larry Summerton. The plate comes with chips and a drink, all for $5.

Larry Summerton will also be providing entertainment for the Derby.

They will also be selling Ugly Duck Derby tee shirts for $5. The design of the tee shirt can be seen in the photo.

The Ugly Duck Derby Belly Buster Celebrities will be judged by Matt England from the Mitchell Police Department, the 2015 Ugly Duck Belly Buster Champion, Derek George and Brigitte Gurden, the Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County.

The celebrity that has the most likes on Facebook will automatically advance to the final round of the belly buster contest.

This year's fundraiser offers some great prizes including a two-year lease of a 2017 Ford Focus from Bedford Ford. The last duck to cross the finish line this year claims a whole hog courtesy of Bill and Kristi Spreen.

As in years past, there will be second 100 duck race with ducks adopted for $100 each. The first finishing duck of this race will win their choice of a 2017 ATV or $2,500.

New this year will be a third race of only 15 ducks. These ducks will be auctioned off at a silent auction at the Ugly Duck Derby on May 20. The grand prize of that race will be a 4 night stay at The Amazing Memory Lodge in Sevierville, Tennessee.
