Last updated on Wednesday, May 3, 2017

(BEDFORD) - The Becky Skillman Leadership Institute announced today the speakers for this year’s event to be held at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County, June 16th.

The Second Lady of the United States Karen Pence will serve as keynote speaker, and will be joined by special guest speakers Maj. Gen. Courtney Carr, Adjutant General of Indiana; Tom Allen, Indiana University Football Coach; Kurt Godlevske, Butler Women's Basketball Coach; and country music sensation, and Bedford's own, Clayton Anderson.

The speakers will each offer their definition of leadership, and share how their personal experiences have influenced their lives, careers and leadership style.

This is the fifth year for the Becky Skillman Leadership Institute, which was started to encourage leaders to aim higher, inspire others, maximize their potential, and to express leadership in its truest form -- through service. The Institute donates 100 percent of the proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County, which serves more than 2,000 area youth.

"Each year I have been grateful for the tremendous support we receive for the Boys & Girls Club through the Institute, and this year is certainly no exception," said Becky Skillman. "I am elated to host this amazing group of speakers who have joined in our mission to inspire leadership and community stewardship. This is truly a unique opportunity for invested community members, employers, business owners and government officials to come together for an entire day dedicated to learning, growing and becoming stronger leaders."

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available at the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County. Single ticket cost is $50 and event sponsorship levels include Silver $400, Gold $600 and Platinum $1000. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance at the Chamber or Boys & Girls Club.
