Bloomington Mayor Hamilton Joins Parking Enforcement Officer For Downtown Walk

Last updated on Tuesday, May 30, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton will join Parking Enforcement Officer Susan McCarter for a walking exploration of downtown Bloomington, starting at 4 p.m. today.

The walk will begin in Peoples Park on Kirkwood Avenue and is expected to cover much of the downtown area.

"I look forward to walking our streets and alleys today with Susan to learn more about her experiences as she goes about her duties. I see this as a continuation of the work of our Downtown Safety, Civility and Justice Task Force and our efforts to understand and work quickly and with compassion to address the specific issues we face in our downtown," said Mayor Hamilton.

This event is part of an ongoing initiative Mayor Hamilton announced in August to assess and address concerns about safety, civility and justice in downtown Bloomington.

The public is welcome to join Mayor Hamilton today.
