Last updated on Friday, May 26, 2017

(MITCHELL) - The Salem, IN food banks are running low.

Owners of Arthur Truck and Trailer in Mitchell, Tony and Sheila Arthur, will be collecting for two weeks before they take their trailer to Salem on Friday, June 9th.

They intend to fill the trailer completely.

The Arthurs ask that you bring donation items to Arthur Truck and Trailer located at 575 Teke Burton Dr. Mitchell, IN. They are open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"I feel it in my heart that we need to do something," said Sheila Arthur. "People down there are in need of everything. They need food, clothes, diapers, furniture... everything."

Monetary donations can be turned into the Salem Police Department, Southern Hills Church in Salem and the Salem YMCA.

If you would like to donate food, please be sure to donate nonperishable items.
