2017 Race For Literacy Benefits Teachers Warehouse

(BLOOMINGTON) - The 2017 Race for Literacy will take place Saturday, June 10 starting at 8 a.m.

This race is part of the Magnificent 7 Road Race Series (Mag 7 Series). The Mag 7 Series is an all volunteer group that selects races in South-Central Indiana to be a part of the series and assigns points to the participants who place.

When the series is completed, the organization holds a Championship Banquet and awards the overall top runners.

The race is hosted by the Bloomington Rotary club and will start at Bloomington Hardware.

All proceeds of the race will directly benefit Teachers Warehouse--a free store for South Central Indiana public school educators that serves the educational and creative needs of pre-K - grade 8 students.

Teachers Warehouse was founded by the Bloomington Rotary Club in 2002 and supplies the following counties: Monroe, Brown, Lawrence, Greene, and Owen.

Early registration is $18 per participant, includes a t-shirt. Early registration ends Friday, May 26th. Regular registration on the day of the race is $20.

A Mag 7 Series Race, FrontRunner Timing will track all participants. Personal times will be available online as soon as possible.

Awards will be given to top male and female overall runner and walker and top three male and female in each age group (14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-70, 70+).
