(BLOOMFIELD) - A Jasonville woman was arrested after she allegedly attempted to smuggle pills into the Greene County Jail.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Greene County Sheriff's Department deputies received a tip that 48-year-old Pamela Bentley was going to attempt to bring pills into the jail with her. Bentley went to the jail on April 12th to serve a five day sentence on a theft conviction.
Police stopped Bentley prior to her being booked into the jail.
Police told Bentley about the allegations and she admitted that she had several controlled substances hid within a body cavity.
Police retrieved a small plastic bag from her body cavity that contained four acetaminophen, 10 tramadol, four oxycodone, four carisoprdol, eight clonazepam, five tizonidine and nine lyrica.
A warrant was issued for Bentley's arrest on April 20th. She was arrested on a Level 5 felony charge of drug trafficking. She posted bond on Monday and is scheduled for an initial hearing on May 1 at 1 p.m.
