New Stoplight On John Williams Boulevard Approved By Board Of Works

Last updated on Monday, April 24, 2017

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Board of Works approved Aldi’s request to place a stop light at the intersection of John Williams Boulevard, James and Constitution Avenues.

The request must now be sent to the Bedford City Council for approval. Their next meeting is May 9th.

The request was submitted by Matt Boone, the civil engineer on the new Aldi's project and Adam Kasti from Aldi's. The new Aldi store is being built on John Williams Boulevard, between Constitution Avenue and Bellback Road. Aldi is currently located at 2308 16th Street but will move to the new larger store - 20,000 square feet, upon completion.

Bedford Police Department Chief Dennis Parsley also stressed the importance of a stop light in that location to help with the increased traffic on the roadways.

The city will ask Aldi's to pay for the installing of the traffic light and its maintenance.
