Man Wanted For Questioning In Dubois Co. Thefts Arrested At Mexican Border

(DUBOIS CO.) - A Birdseye man wanted by Dubois County Police in connect to several thefts, was arrested Wednesday evening in a Texas county bordering Mexico.

The Dubois County Free Press reports that 34-year-old Dennis "Denny" Burgdorf was arrested in Hildago County Texas at about 7:30 p.m. He was located and apprehended with the assistance of the Indiana State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

He was taken to the Hildago County Jail and is awaiting extradition proceedings.

The Dubois County Sheriff's Department officials say Burgdorf is wanted for questioning in connection in multiple thefts, including vehicle thefts, that have occurred in Dubois County and surrounding counties. He is also wanted for failing to appear in Dubois Superior County on March 27 for a pending narcotics arrest.

The Dubois County Sheriffs Department, Indiana State Police, Crawford County Sheriffs Department and other agencies have been working multiple cases in which Burgdorf is a suspect.

They have recovered multiple vehicles that have been stolen. However, a Red 2004 Ford F-450 dually truck with a utility bed and a with Indiana truck plate TK973LGT is still missing.
