Last updated on Thursday, April 13, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police were called to Arch Bloomington Apartments in the 700 block of West Gourley Pike at 12:59 a.m. on Monday after a report of a fight.

When police arrived they found an 18-year-old man with abrasions and bruises on his head. He told police that he had been robbed of his wallet and cash.

A woman, who was with the victim, told police that they traveled to an apartment to visit a friend, but the friend wasn't home. When they returned to their truck, three men ran up and began beating the man. The woman was able to get into the cab of the truck and one of the men pointed a handgun at her.

Bloomington Police Department Lt. John Kovach says that witnesses described the suspects as two black men, one with short hair and one with dreadlocks, and one white man with a gun.

The woman told police she didn't know any of the men. The victim told police the attack may have been related to something that happened to a friend. He couldn't expand on the statement due to his injuries, Kovach added.
