(BLOOMINGTON) - Police say 32-year-old Johnny T. Moore of Indianapolis admitted his involvement as a driver in the shooting death of 26-year-old Brittany Sater.

On August 28, 2016 Sater bled to death in a hospital room hours after she was shot. She died nine hours after a high-velocity bullet from an SKS rifle destroyed her liver, causing her to bleed to death.

A jury found Moore guilty on Friday night of murder, burglary and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury after hearing four days of testimony in Monroe Circuit Court.

Moore will be sentenced on May 8.

Defense attorney Glen Koch says that Moore went to Brittany Sater's house to deal drugs, not to rob, burglarize or murder her. He says the case is all about "blame shifting." Koch argued that Webb decided on his own to shoot Sater, and that no robbery had been planned.

Moore told police after his arrest that he only went to Sater's house to sell her 40 grams of heroin and did not plan or participate in the murder.

However, after testimony from Billie Jean Edison, the police believed Moore planned the burglary and robbery that lead to Sater's death. Edison faces the same charges as Moore, and she told police that she participated in the robbery under Moore's direction. Edison will receive a plea deal after testifying against Moore.

Dennis Webb also faces the same three charges as Moore and Edison. Police say Webb was the one who shot Sater. Sater told police that before she died, that the man named "BJ" had shot her.

But Edison testified that as soon as Sater opened her door that night, Webb put the end of the SKS rifle against her forehead and forced her to the back where she kept a safe containing drugs and money. She was shot in her bedroom and forced to open the safe. Edison told police Webb dragged her body out of the room.

Both Edison and Webb have court hearing sets for later this month.
