Eastern Greene School Board To Purchase New Buses, Approves Several Donations

(BLOOMFIELD) - Eastern Greene School Board approved the purchase of two school buses Monday night.

The total cost for both is $14,000, and will be paid from the district's Rainy Day Fund, which will then be reimbursed by transfer from the Bus Replacement Fund, with the upcoming new budget.

The board also approved new handbooks for all three schools for the coming year.

Several donations were approved, including:

  • A $60 donation from Monty and Peggy Fitch to the Eastern Greene FFA, in the memory of Tom Britton.
  • A donation of $400 from John and Jean Burkhart, to benefit the Eastern Greene band and marching band programs.
  • A $50 donation from the Women's Association of Presbyterian Church to defray the cost of the fifth graders Bradford Woods trip.
  • A $1,000 donation from the Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC Community Fund, to assist with the 2017 eighth grade trip to Washington, DC.
