Two Teens Arrested After Stealing Sword And Knives From Bloomington Car Dealership

(BLOOMINGTON) - Two 14-year-old boys were arrested early Wednesday morning after they allegedly broke into a car dealership and another building and stole several knives and a sword.

Both of the teens, whose names have not been released because they are juveniles, were arrested on a felony charge of burglary

At about 3 a.m., a Bloomington police officer was patrolling the area near the McDonald's on North Walnut Street when he noticed the teens walking along the roadside. The officer says the teen appeared to be intoxicated and one was carrying a sword.

When the teens noticed the officer they turned around and took off running. Officers apprehended the teens near a parking lot at the intersection of 15th Street and North College Avenue.

Police found several knives and one sword. The boys admitted to getting the knives and sword from a building at Dealer's Outlet on North Walnut Street.

Police contacted the boy's parents and the boys were arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center. The knives and sword were return to their owners.
