Two Bloomington Teens Cited Into Court After Breaking Into Vehicles

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police arrested two teenagers Friday after they stole several items from vehicles at Arch Bloomington apartments on West Gourley Pike.

Police were called to the apartment complex at 11:45 p.m. Friday after a witnessed told police they saw a pair of teens entering cars.

Officers searched the area and found the two teens that matched the callers description. When the officer directed his flashlight at the teens they took off running.

Police apprehended one juvenile. The teen was cited into juvenile court and returned to his parents' home. The teen told police the other teen had been spending the night at his home and they got bored and went to the apartment complex.

He told police that breaking into the unlocked cars was his friend's idea. He then told police where his friend lived.

Police went to that home and the other teen was cited into juvenile court.

Police say the 16-year-old and 17-year-old stole Adidas and Nike sandals, Nike shoes, A black hoodie, sunglasses, cologne, a lighter and loose change. The items were returned to their owners.
