Third And Final Meeting Concerning Daviess County Courthouse Annex Is Tonight

Last updated on Tuesday, March 14, 2017

(DAVIESS CO.) - The third and final meeting concerning a Daviess County Courthouse Annex is tonight.

Montgomery area residents will get a chance to hear the proposals and comment. The meeting is tonight at 6 p.m. at the Montgomery Ruritan Building.

Architects are proposing renovating the existing ONB building downtown for an annex. They are also considering building a new building at 3rd and Hefron. Both locations contain various options ranging in construction costs from $6 to more than $8 million dollars.

The new facility will house the assessor, auditor, treasurer and recorder.

Officials say the annex is needed to alleviate storage and space issues at the courthouse which has been going on for many years.

Turnout was light at meetings in Washington and Odon with mostly elected county officials and courthouse employees attending.
