Salvation Army Will Reopen In New Location In Bedford

Last updated on Wednesday, March 8, 2017

(BEDFORD) - The Salvation Army announces that it will be reopening its services for Lawrence County families beginning in mid-April.

The Salvation Army will serve those in need from its new location at the Bedford Senior Center at 2205 Washington Ave. in Bedford.

An announcement with the details of The Salvation Army's grand reopening, along with information on services and hours of operation will be released in the next few weeks.

The services provided from this location will be emergency needs such as food, emergency lodging, rent or utility assistance, disaster service, and other critical needs as funding allows.

The Army will also operate other community programs such as the Angel Tree and summer camp scholarships for youth.

Additionally, The Salvation Army in Lawrence County will be looking at increasing its services to senior citizens.

In February, The Salvation Army sold its property in downtown Bedford, as it was no longer financially feasible to continue to own and operate the historic building on K Street.

The Salvation Army will continue to be self-funded, raising the funds necessary to provide local services.

When you donate to The Salvation Army, your donation is used to support programs and services that help people in need in Lawrence County.
