(UNDATED) - Firefighters rushed to a home at 7000 Suddath Lane this morning after a report a home had collapsed and a person was trapped in a closet.
Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department Engine 52, Squad 55 and Engine 51 rushed to the scene with 8 firefighters.
While en-route Orange County advised the subjects were out of the house and no longer trapped," says Marion Chief Paul Gillespie. "However they did advise there were numerous houses damaged with multiple entrapments possible."
Engine 52 and Engine 51 staged near Suddath Lane and County Road 600 East while Squad 55 checked residences because it was more maneuverable than the larger engines.
"All residences we made contact with were uninjured," Chief Gillespie added. "Crews checked residences north of Suddath Lane all the way to Tunnelton Bono Road and couldn't find anymore victims or entrapments.:
Orange county searched the areas south of Suddath Lane.
Chief Gillespie says there were multiple homes damaged and trees and power lines down in multiple locations.
Lawrence County Emergency Management Director Valerie Luchauer says a low-level tornado appears to have touched down near the Thralls Road area and some turkey barns and mobile homes were damaged.
"At least one person was transported to the hospital," she added. "There were homes and other structures damaged in the Middle Leesville Road area and along State Road 60 East."
Luchauer added that some county roads were obstructed by downed trees and high water.
In southern Indiana, crews rescued at least one person trapped after a mobile home overturned on Sellers Lane and State Road 335 in Pekin.
An electrical substation caught fire in Jackson County this morning, and residents in the area are still without power.
Highway 60 was closed in Borden because of a downed tree. Also, Highway 135 was closed in Salem at Pump Station Road because of another downed tree.
Washington City Crews worked on storm damage this morning at Brett Cable Road and State Road 57
High winds have caused havoc throughout the area this morning and last night.
About 4:45 this morning high winds knocked down power lines, limbs and trees. The incidents knocked out power and backed up traffic in several areas.
No injuries reported in Washington due to the storms.
