UPDATED - Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle On State Road 54

(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville man was killed after he was struck by a pickup truck Tuesday night while walking near State Road 54 and Lilly Lane

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 85-year-old Chester Andis, suffered internal injures.

Stat Flight was alerted but a short time later, Lawrence County Coroner Rob Herr was alerted and responded to the scene.

The accident was reported at 8:29 p.m., after a woman called police saying her boyfriend had hit a pedestrian at State Road 54 and Lilly Lane.

The driver of the 1990 Ford Ranger is 54-year-old Kenneth Price Jr., of Bedford.

According to Sheriff Mike Branham the accident remains under investigation.

No other details will be released at this time.

Assisting at the scene were an IU Health Hospital, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Bedford Fire Department extrication unit and Bedford Police Department.
