Orleans Ministerial Association Named Orleans Dogwood Festival Grand Marshal

Last updated on Wednesday, March 29, 2017

(ORLEANS) - The Orleans Ministerial Association has been named as the Grand Marshal for the upcoming 2017 Dogwood Festival Parade.

The announcement was formally made during the Dogwood Festival Planning held Tuesday night.

"We hope everyone will come out on Parade Day and help us honor and recognize these outstanding community partners," says Orleans Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robert F. Henderson. The group will lead the Parade through the historic downtown of "Indiana's Dogwood Capital" on Sat., April 29 beginning at 2 p.m.

Henderson added that festival committee planners felt that in keeping with this year's general theme "Orleans: Helping Hands, Helping Others-A Community that Serves," that the area ministerial association was the perfect choice for this year's Grand Marshal selection.

The Orleans Ministerial Association is active throughout the year organizing community events. Among the special services they hold are the Good Friday, and Easter Sunrise. The association also sponsors the TOUCH/RIOT program and the Live Nativity for Christmas on the Square. In addition the group hosts two signature Dogwood Festival events, the Opening Prayer event (formerly Vesper Service) and Community Gospel Sing. Members also coordinate Prayer at each Home Basketball Games.

Ministers, active and retired are members of the association and are engaged in helping to meet a variety of needs in the Community.
