(ORLEANS) - Orleans town officials are requesting residents to help them apply for grant dollars.

The Town of Orleans is looking into applying for future Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) monies offered through the Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs (IOCRA). The CDBG Program is a federally funded grant program that benefits communities like Orleans with projects such as planning studies, community improvements, wastewater, water, roads, etc

But in order for communities to receive grant dollars, combined income levels must be provided for those households benefiting from the grant.

Orleans residents that randomly are selected to receive a survey are asked to take a moment to complete the survey and return it in the self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Officials say your support and participation is crucial to providing Orleans the opportunity to apply for grant dollars.

All information provided will be kept confidential and only a collective summary will be included in the grant application.

Official representatives will never ask for any personally identifiable information such as your social security number or bank account information.

If officials do not receive your survey, reminder surveys will be mailed. Every time surveys are mailed, it costs Orleans money for the postage and material. So officials would appreciate your reply to the initial survey mailing.
