Oolitic Man Arrested After Allegedly Pushing Woman To The Ground

Last updated on Friday, March 17, 2017

(OOLITIC) - An Oolitic man was arrested after he allegedly took a woman’s purse, her cell phone, grabbed her and threw her down.

Police arrested 42-year-old jailed Joseph Kusturin, on a warrant for a motion to revoke bond.

According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, on Feb. 21, a woman told Oolitic Deputy Marshal Toby Gerkin that Kusturin had battered her earlier in the day at an apartment in the 500 block of Ninth Street where they both lived.

The woman told the deputy she got into an argument with Krusturin. During the dispute she claims Krusturin took her purse and cell phone and when she attempted to get the items back he pushed her, grabbed her arms and threw her to the ground.

The deputy went to the apartment and there Kusturin told him the argument started when the woman said she was moving out. He took the cell phone because it belonged to him. He denied grabbing or pushing the woman.
