(BEDFORD) - North Lawrence Community Schools and United Way of South Central Indiana is offering a four-week, half-day kindergarten readiness program.

The camp will take place at Parkview Primary School for eligible children from Lincoln and Stalker school districts.

Children from other school within the North Lawrence school system might also be eligible to participate, but free transportation will not be guaranteed to those children.

The camp is open to 2017-18 kindergartners by invitation only. It will be offered on June 5-30, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Breakfast and lunch will be available to the students.

The goal of the program is to create a positive transition for new kindergartners, especially those with little to no prior classroom (pre-K) experience or those needing a little extra help before starting school in the fall.

More information on the program call United Way of South Central Indiana at (812) 278-8613.
