(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was injured after he lost control of his pickup and crashed into a wooded area Sunday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 54-year-old Thomas Bertolino of Mitchell was traveling north on Ind. 37 near Art Gallery Road at 9:23 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, he drove his 2004 GM pickup off the north side of Ind. 37.
The truck traveled around 300 feet through the woods, striking small trees and brush and finally stopped against a large tree.
Bertolino suffered facial lacerations and was taken by an AMR ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
Assisting at the scene was Marion Volunteer Fire Department first responders and Bedford Fire Department.
