Mitchell Man Arrested After Allegedly Slamming Boy Into Wall

Last updated on Wednesday, March 8, 2017

(MITCHELL) - Police arrested a Mitchell man on a warrant on Monday after police say he poked a boy in the chest and then threw him against a wall.

Mitchell Police arrested 50-year-old Gary Little on a charge of battery resulting in bodily injury.

According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, on October 28, Mitchell police were called to the Mitchell High School football field after a report of a man slamming a 12-year-old boy against a wall.

The boy told police that he had been joking around with Little's son and asked him if he wanted to fight.

The boy says Little then approached him and started poking him in the chest while yelling at him.

He then alleges that Little picked him up and slammed him against the wall three times.

The boy showed police a red mark on his chest from where he was poked. He told police he was suffering from pain after being slammed into the wall.

On November 4, police spoke with Little and his son. Little admitted to putting his finger on the boy's chest, but says the boy tripped into him, which caused Little to grab him by his sweatshirt and push him against a door.

Little's son told police the other boy had been bullying him and that his father did poke the boy in the chest and had grabbed him by the sweatshirt. He says his father told the boy to stop bullying him.
