(MARTINSVILLE) - A Martinsville man was injured after he crashed his ATV Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, 47-year-old Coby Conrad was operating his 2011 Bombardier Outlander 800 on Turkey Track Road near Bryant's Creek Road when the ATV turned onto its side causing Conrad to fall from the machine.

Indiana Conservation Officers say the accident happened around 4:30 p.m.

Conrad was transported to Bloomington Hospital by EMS personnel with injuries to his head and road rash.

Conrad was not wearing a helmet or using other safety equipment during the incident.

Alcohol has not been ruled out as a contributing factor in this crash.

Assisting agencies include Morgan County Sheriff Department and IU Health Bloomington EMS. Indiana Conservation Officer Kurt Kinser is continuing his investigation of this crash.

Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind you to always wear safety equipment and to never mix alcohol while operating ATV's and ORV's.
