Judy Bush To Serve As Governor Of Rotary International Southern Indiana District 6580

(BEDFORD) - For the first time in 42 years, a Lawrence County resident will serve as governor of the Rotary International Southern Indiana District 6580 starting on July 1st.

Judy Bush of Heltonville will preside over 35 Rotary clubs, totaling more than 1,600 members, in southern Indiana.

She will succeed district Gov. Laura Carie and will hold the position until June 2018. The last governor from Bedford's club was Ralph Clark in 1975.

Bush has been with Bedford Rotary Club since 2011.

Bush and her husband, John, moved to Lawrence County in 2011 after she retired from her job as a school superintendent at Attica Consolidated School District in western Indiana. She spent 46 years in public education as a teacher, dean, counselor, assistant principal and superintendent.

She was also a member of Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club, and was assistant governor and ambassadorial scholarship chair in the Central Indiana district.

During her time with the Bedford Rotary Club, Bush has taken the roles of youth exchange officer, club secretary and district secretary. Coupling the youth exchange officer position with her career in public education.
