(JACKSON CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation met Tuesday with its contractor at Seymour District offices to go over plans for a $3.4 million bridge and small structure replacement project on U.S. Highway 50 in western Jackson County.
Force Construction of Columbus is charged with removing and replacing the single span 90-foot bulb-T beam concrete bridge over Clear Spring Creek, located 3.35 miles west of State Road 335 in Owen Township. A nearby drainage structure on U.S. 50 will also be removed and replaced.
Installation of the 3-sided small structure at an unnamed tributary of Clear Spring Creek is located 6.12 miles east of S.R. 446. The new structure will have a 20-foot span and measure 52 feet in length.
Operations will take place later this year and during the spring-summer of 2018. The contract completion date is July 31, 2018.
Closures will be required.
U.S. 50 has a traffic count of 4080 vehicles per day.
